Setting Up Your Verito Remote Desktop on a Mac

Use this article if: you are connecting to Verito for the first time from a Mac computer.
How long this takes: 10 to 15 minutes.
What you'll need
l Your Mac with internet access.
l The Verito welcome email containing your RDP file attachment.
l Your Verito password (provided during onboarding).
What to do
1. Install Microsoft Remote Desktop from the App Store
Open the App Store on your Mac and search for Microsoft Remote Desktop. Click Get to install it. Make sure you install the app published by Microsoft Corporation. Here is what is looks like on the Apple Store.

2. Download your RDP file
Open your Verito welcome email. Find the attached .rdp file and save it somewhere easy to find, such as your desktop.
3. Import the RDP file into Microsoft Remote Desktop
Open Microsoft Remote Desktop. Click the + (plus icon) and select Import from file. Locate and select the RDP file you downloaded.
4. Enter your credentials
Click on the newly added profile to launch it. When prompted, enter your Verito password. Optionally, check Store user account to save your credentials for future logins. Click Continue.
5. Accept the security prompt
If a security warning appears, check "Don't ask me again for connections to this computer" and click Continue.
6. Connect
You are now connected to your Verito remote desktop. Your applications and files are accessible.
You should now see
Your Verito remote desktop session open on your Mac, with access to your tax software and files.
Note: Make sure you have a stable internet connection before connecting. A wired ethernet connection will give better performance, however, Wi-Fi is the de facto standard in modern times.
