What is Verito App Manager?
Verito_AppManager is a small utility that lives on your desktop. It gives you a safe way to close an application when it freezes or stops responding — without needing to call support or wait for IT.
You'll find the shortcut on your desktop labeled Verito_AppManager.
Applications currently available in the app manager: [UltraTax, QuickBooks, MS Office, ProSeries, Adobe, TaxDome, TSScan, Lacerte, and Drake Tax]
Important:
Closing an application this way is a force-close. That means:
- Any unsaved work in that application will be lost.
- Save your work before using Verito_AppManager whenever possible.
- Only use this tool when an application has frozen and you can't close it the normal way
How to use it:
1. Double-click the Verito_AppManager icon on your desktop.
2. The window opens and shows a tile for each application.

3. Click the tile for the app that's frozen (for example, Drake).
4. You'll see a list of every open version of that app in your session. For example, Drake might show "Drake Tax 2025", "Drake Documents 2024", etc.

5. Click the red Close button next to the specific version that's frozen.
6. If you want to close every version of that app at once, click the red Close All [App] Versions button at the bottom.
Signing out of the server
The Sign Out tile (at the bottom of the main window) closes all your open applications and logs you off the server.
The Exit button
The green Exit button at the bottom just closes the Verito_AppManager window. It does not close any of your tax applications and does not log you out. Use it whenever you're done with the tool itself.
Pinning to your taskbar (highly recommended)
The first time you open Verito_AppManager, you'll see a friendly prompt suggesting you pin it to your taskbar for faster access in the future.

To pin it:
- Right-click the Verito_AppManager icon on your desktop.
- Choose "Pin to taskbar" from the menu that appears.
That's it — from then on, the app will be one click away from your taskbar at the bottom of the screen.
If you don't want to see the pin reminder again, check the "Don't show this again" box before clicking Got it. The reminder will never appear again on this server.
