Where Verito Is Based
Verito Technologies is a U.S. company headquartered in the United States. We serve U.S.-based CPA and tax firms, and our business, security policies, and data governance are all managed from the U.S.
Like many technology companies, Verito has team members in multiple locations. Some operational and support functions are handled by team members based in India. This is standard practice across the IT industry. Companies like Microsoft, Google, and most major managed service providers operate the same way. It does not affect the security or location of your data in any way.
All client-facing decisions, security policies, and data governance are managed from our U.S. headquarters. Our internal compliance controls covers all operations regardless of where team members are located, ensuring the same rigorous controls apply across the board.
Where team members sit has no bearing on where your data lives. Your data is stored in U.S. data centers, governed by U.S. security policies, and protected by our internal compliance controls.
Where Your Data Is Stored
All client data is stored in U.S.-based data centers. No client data is stored, processed, or transmitted outside the United States. Every tool in the VeritGuard stack uses U.S.-based infrastructure with its own security certifications.
Here is a breakdown of each tool in the VeritGuard stack and where its data lives:
| Tool | Purpose | Data Location | Certification |
|---|---|---|---|
| RMM | Remote monitoring and management | U.S. data centers | SOC 2 Type II |
| SOC Monitoring | Endpoint detection and response (EDR) | U.S. data centers | SOC 2 Type II |
| Endpoint Backup | Continuous file and system backup | U.S. data centers | SOC 2 Type II |
| NordLayer | Business VPN | U.S. data centers | SOC 2 Type II, ISO 27001 |
| 1Password | Password management | U.S. data centers (AWS) | SOC 2 Type II |
| Email Protection | Email security and filtering | U.S. data centers | SOC 2 Type II |
| Cybersecurity training | Security awareness training | U.S. data centers | SOC 2 Type II |
Every tool in the VeritGuard stack stores data exclusively in U.S.-based data centers. If you need formal data residency documentation, Verito can provide it upon request.
Using VeritGuard Alongside Another Vendor's Services
Some firms considering VeritGuard already have an existing IT vendor or specific tools they want to keep. Maybe you have a backup solution from another provider, or an antivirus product your old IT company set up. This is a common situation, and here is what you should know.
Impact on Security
Running two sets of security tools can cause real problems. Two antivirus products often interfere with each other, flagging the other as suspicious or competing for system resources. Two backup agents can conflict over file locks, leading to incomplete backups on both sides. Beyond technical conflicts, having two vendors creates gaps in accountability. If something goes wrong, neither vendor has full visibility into the environment, and each may assume the other is handling a particular area. That is exactly the kind of gap that leads to security incidents. That is why we don't install our tool if you already have same tool which does the similar job.
Impact on Cost
VeritGuard plans are priced as a complete security stack. Using only some VeritGuard services while keeping others from a different vendor does not reduce the VeritGuard subscription cost. You end up paying for two overlapping services without getting additional benefit from either.
What We Recommend
Let Verito handle the full security stack. This gives you a single point of accountability, no tool conflicts, and complete visibility into your environment. During onboarding, Verito manages the transition from your previous vendor's tools to the VeritGuard stack, so there is no gap in coverage at any point during the switchover.
That said, we understand some firms have specific tools they want to keep. If that applies to you, discuss it with your account manager. In some cases, coexistence is possible. For example, keeping a specific cloud backup for archival purposes alongside VeritGuard's endpoint backup can work without conflicts, as long as both tools are configured properly.
One vendor, one stack, one point of accountability. That is the simplest path to strong security and lower cost. If you have a specific tool you need to keep, talk to your account manager before onboarding so we can plan around it.
Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Is my data safe if some of your support team is in India?
Yes. Support team members do not have access to client data stored on your systems. All data remains in U.S. data centers, and access controls are governed by our internal compliance policies. Role-based access means team members only have the permissions they need for their specific function, regardless of where they are located.
Q: Can you prove my data never leaves the U.S.?
Yes. All tools in the VeritGuard stack store data exclusively in U.S. data centers. Each vendor in the stack maintains its own data residency commitments. Verito can provide data residency documentation upon request.
Q: What happens to my data if I leave Verito?
Your data is yours. If you decide to leave, Verito will assist with data export and transition to your new provider. After the offboarding process is complete, your data is securely deleted from all Verito-managed systems per our data retention policy.
Q: Can I keep my old backup tool and just use Verito for everything else?
Technically yes, but it is not recommended for the reasons outlined above. Running two backup agents can cause conflicts, and you end up paying for overlapping services. Talk to your account manager before onboarding so we can evaluate your specific situation and find the best approach.
