SmartVault - Manually Checking for and Installing Updates
Verito Technologies | Version 1.0 | Effective: 08/31/2026
Purpose
Walk a client (or run it yourself on their behalf) through manually updating the SmartVault desktop client. Use this when a client reports SmartVault behaving oddly, prompting for an update, or running an outdated version. An out-of-date SmartVault client is a common cause of sync and integration issues, so this is a good first step before deeper troubleshooting.
Update Steps
- Open SmartVault Launchpad. Launch it from the computer where SmartVault is installed.
- Find the SmartVault icon in the system tray. Look at the bottom-right corner of the screen. If the icon appears grayed out, sign in first; the updater needs an active session.
- Right-click the icon and choose Check for updates. The updater compares the installed version against the latest release.
- Click OK if an update is ready. The installation wizard downloads and installs the update.
- Close other programs if prompted. The client updater may ask you to close running programs or background applications; do this to avoid installation errors.
Quick Reference
Launchpad open, sign in, right-click the tray icon, Check for updates, OK to install, close anything the updater asks you to. Vendor documentation: SmartVault - Manually Checking for SmartVault Updates.
