How to Set Up Duo Mobile for Two-Factor Authentication

Use this article if: you have been asked to set up two-factor authentication (2FA) on your Verito account, or you are activating Duo Mobile on a new phone.
How long this takes: 5 to 10 minutes.
Duo Mobile adds a second layer of security to your login. After entering your password, Duo sends a prompt to your phone that you tap to approve. If someone else tries to log in with your password, they cannot get in without your phone.
Set up Duo Mobile on Android
1. Install Duo Mobile
Open the Google Play Store and search for Duo Mobile. Install the app published by Duo Security LLC.

2. Open Duo Mobile and tap Set up account

Tap Set up account on the Duo Mobile home screen.
3. Tap Use a QR code

Select Use a QR code to proceed.
4. Scan the QR code
When Verito's enrollment screen shows a QR code in your browser, use the Duo Mobile camera to scan it. Allow camera permission if prompted.

5. Name the account
Give the account a name (e.g., Verito) and tap Save.

6. Practice (optional but recommended)
Tap Practice now to get familiar with approving and denying requests before going live.

You are now set up. When you log in to Verito, a push notification will appear on your phone. Tap Approve to complete the login.

Set up Duo Mobile on iPhone
1. Install Duo Mobile
Open the App Store and search for Duo Mobile. Install the app published by Cisco Systems, Inc.
2. Open Duo Mobile and step through the intro screens
Launch the app and tap Continue.

Tap Continue to get started.
3. Tap Use a QR code

Select Use a QR code.
4. Scan the QR code
Use the Duo Mobile camera to scan the QR code shown in the enrollment screen in your browser. Grant camera permission if prompted.

5. Name the account and save
Give the account a name (e.g., Verito), then tap Save. Tap Next.

6. Enable notifications
Tap Allow notifications so Duo can send push requests to your phone. This is required for Duo Push to work.

Tap OK and return to your browser to complete the login. You are now set up.
Using Duo Push day-to-day
Every time you log in to Verito, Duo sends a push notification to your phone.
l Approve — tap this to complete your login.
l Deny — tap this if you did not initiate the login. You will be asked if the request was suspicious.

Tap Approve to complete a legitimate login.
Note: If you receive a Duo Push that you did not request, tap Deny and then tap Yes — this was suspicious. Duo will silence push notifications for 20 minutes and notify your administrator. Contact Verito Support if this happens.
