How to Restore Your Drake Tax from a Backup

Restoring data from backups is crucial when recovering from data loss or migrating to a new system. Drake Tax simplifies this process through its integrated restore functions.
Restoring from a Local or Network Location
- Open Drake Tax and navigate to the Home window.
- Select Tools > File Maintenance > Restore to open the "Backup and Restore" dialog.
- At the bottom, choose Local or network location.
- Click Browse to locate the backup file.
- Select the desired backup from the Select Backup to Restore dropdown.
- Click Preview to review restore options.
- In the "Restore Items From Backup" dialog:
- For a full restore, select Restore Everything.
- For specific items, choose Customize Restore and select the desired files.
- Click Restore and confirm when prompted.
Restoring from SecureFilePro
- If you've backed up data to SecureFilePro:
- Access the "Backup and Restore" dialog as above.
- Choose SecureFilePro as the restore source.
- Available backups will appear in the Select Backup to Restore dropdown.
- Proceed with steps 5-8 as outlined in the local restore instructions.
Note: Restoring data will overwrite existing files. Ensure you have the correct backup before proceeding.
